Coming April 4: Hildegard von Bingen's Ordo Virtutum (POSTED 

On Monday April 4, 2011 at 8:00 at the Legacy Events  Center in Lubbock, Texas, the Texas Tech Early Music Ensemble, in partnership with Caprock Early Music Association and the Gamma Ut Musicology Student organization,will present the medieval music drama Ordo Virtutum, by 12th century abbess and mystic Hildegard von Bingen. This is a rare opportunity to see and hear this unique work, and admission is FREE!

Sequentia: Fragments for the End of Time 

On January 15, 2010, the TTU School of Music, CEMA, and the TTU Vernacular Music Center welcomed Benjamin Bagby and Norbert Rodenkirchen of Sequentia, who enthralled a packed house at the Legacy Events Center in Lubbock with their program "Fragments for the End of Time." Jostein Gundersen, recorder 

 

In November 2009, in collaboration with the TTU School of Music, CEMA welcomed Norwegian recorder virtuoso Jostein Gundersen, who along with harpsichordist Sigurd Øgaard presented a concert of music of Telemann, Corelli and Handel at the Legacy Events Center in Lubbock. They were joined by cellist Brady Meyer and violinists Kirsten Yon, Fagner Rocha, and Behnam Arzaghi. Mr. Gundersen also offered an enjoyable and energizing master class for the recorder players of the TTU Early Music Ensemble!

 

 

Grand Cru Baroque 

March 25-28, 2009: Grand Cru Baroque

 

In March of 2009, TTU School of Music and CEMA co-sponsored a performance by Grand Cru Baroque (Kim Pineda, transverse flute; Bernard Gordillo, harpsichord.)

 

Their visit included a concert of virtuosic Baroque chamber music at the Legacy Great Hall; a recorder master class w/ Kim Pineda; a harpsichord workshop w/ Bernard Gordillo, which happened during a freak late-season snowstorm; and a Baroque master class w/Bernard Gordillo.
