On Monday April 4, 2011 at 8:00 at the Legacy Events  Center in Lubbock, Texas, the Texas Tech Early Music Ensemble, in partnership with Caprock Early Music Association and the Gamma Ut Musicology Student organization, will present the medieval music drama Ordo Virtutum, by 12th century abbess and mystic Hildegard von Bingen. This is a rare opportunity to see and hear this unique work, and admission is FREE!

Join the TTU Early Music Ensemble for a FREE concert of beautiful music by Monteverdi (and some other Italians!) Sunday evening, November 14th at 7 PM at the Legacy Events Center, at 14th and Ave O in Lubbock, Texas. Presented by the TTU School of Music with additional support from Caprock Early Music.

On Sunday, April 18 at 7:00 PM in the Talkington Great Hall at the Legacy Event Center, the Texas Tech University Celtic Ensemble (http://ttucelticensemble.com) presents a concert entitled “The Rolling Wave: Maritime Celts”. Singers and players will perform dances, songs, listening pieces, and tunes associated with the Celtic experience around the watery globe and across the centuries. Students, families, and seniors are especially welcome.

7 PM: Worlds of Dance: A Terpsichorean Evening with the TTU Vernacular Music Center. Featuring the TTU Early Music Ensemble, the Celtic Ensemble, the TTU Ragtime Ensemble, and the World Music Ensemble, assisted by the Tech Set-Dancers. Music and dances from Irish, English, African-American, Mediterranean, Polynesian, and South American traditions. This is a family-friendly event, free and open to the public, celebrating the mission of the TTU Vernacular Music Center.

9 PM: Dancing with Mr Darcy: A Jane Austen Evening with the TTU Vernacular Music Center. Cotillion & Cold Buffet; Music by the TTU Celtic Ensemble and Early Music Ensemble. English Country Dances demonstrated by the ensembles; guests invited to participate. Candle-lit buffet at 10:30pm; coffee service at midnight. Formal/period dress requested.

This is a fundraiser for the TTU Vernacular Music Center.

On January 15, 2010, Benjamin Bagby and Norbert Rodenkirchen of Sequentia enthralled a packed house at the Legacy Events Center in Lubbock with their program "Fragments for the End of Time." The program was a collection of dramatic, beautiful, and powerful medieval songs and tales exploring apocalyptic visions of the End of Days and the Last Judgement. 

This concert was presented by the TTU School of Music, with additional support from Caprock Early Music and the TTU Vernacular Music Center.

On 11/2/09 CEMA welcomed Norwegian recorder virtuoso Jostein Gundersen, who along with Lubbock-based harpsichordist Sigurd Øgaard presented a concert of Telemann, Corelli and Handel at the Legacy Events Center in Lubbock. They were joined by cellist Brady Meyer and violinists Kirsten Yon, Fagner Rocha, and Behnam Arzaghi. Presented in collaboration with the TTU School of Music.
